Newest Design

Well, here is the newest design for my next diaper. I was in the process of making the diaper when my serger broke :( So now I won't be able to finish the diaper anytime soon so I figured I would go ahead and post a pic of the applique so I would have something new posted....lol.

Black Skull Diaper

Here is my latest diaper. I think this is the best one so far. I love the applique skull on the back. I'm also glad that it has snaps. I'm excited about trying it out!

Trin's New Dress

Here is a dress I finished for Trin last night. It's a really cute little dress. She picked out her fabric and keeps wanting to know when it will be finished.

I appliqued some flowers on it then hand embroidered the stems. This was my first time hand embroidering and I must say that it can be addicting. I really hope to learn more hand embroidery in the future.

Now I just have to finish all the other projects on my list. I need to start getting diapers made. I bought some flannel to start making some fitteds, but it's so cute I might make Trin some pajama bottoms. I need to start knitting soakers. I got a good pattern I think so hopefully in the next few days I will start on my first soaker. I have a baby quilt I need to get finished as a baby gift. Plus all the extra fun things that I just want to do.

My Newest Purse

Here is a pic of my new purse. I am really happy with this purse. I'm not sure it came out how I originally imagined it, but I am pleased. I used home decor fabric and appliqued the flower on it. I loved the home decor fabric but wanted to brighted it up and make it feel more happy. I also wanted to add red to it since I thought red would be a nice accent color for it. I do wish the red had been a little deeper, but it was all I had on hand. I put in a zipper to finish off this purse. I finished it all in one sitting... about 4 hours, give or take a few. This purse was my own design.

Fall Potholder

Here's a pic of the pot holder I started the other night at a craft night I had at my house. The first half of the night I helped my friend Amanda make one and she did a really good job especially since she doesn't sew. I liked hers so much I decided to make one like it for me. I used the decorative flower stitch around the border. It's a little funky, but I like it.

Applique Pillow Practice

Here is a pillow I made for Trin with some scraps. I wanted to practice my applique so this is what I got. I'm not to happy with the flowers. I had two more on there put I took them off. Shane said it looked good...before I took the other two flowers off. I just wish the flowers looked a little better. I'm thinking they're just not the best kind for applique. If I woulda had green embroidery floss I woulda gave them some stems or something. But oh well, I needed some practice and Trin wanted a pillow. Win win situation!

Here is an upclose pic of the teddybear. You can still see the marking pen on his face. I think the came out good. I wish some of the edges could have been a little more smoother. This was my first time using french knots which were for his eyes. I use a running stitch for his mouth. All in all....it was good practice.

Snowman applique

LOL...here's my applique snowman for Mycah's stocking. He was made from all scraps minus the buttons. I think he looks better in the pic...lol. But I guess now it's time to go quilt him into the stocking...

Harlequin Hearts

Here is my finished Harlequin Hearts quilt wall hanging. It came out wonderful. I made this for my mom. This time when I used the invisible thread to quilt it it worked pretty good for me and I didn't have a hard time with it. However when I tried to use it to blindhem stitch the hearts down it would not work, so I had to use the zigzag stich around the hearts which still came out looking really good. I am really pleased with how good this turned out. It is a beautiful wall hanging. I am hoping to make more (wall hangings) as gifts in the future (as time allows).
