Trin's Easter Dress

Here is Trin's Easter dress. I had to do alot of hand sewing on this dress. I had to hand sew the lining into the bodice, but the inside looks really nice...lol. It is hard to see the ribbon going around it from these pics. I got to put my label into her dress:)

A great big brother:)

Closer pic of the front. You can't really see the ribbon/beading on it from here.

Back of her dress.

Here is a close pic of the ribbon/beads going around her dress.

Close pic of the back and the invisible zipper. You can also kinda see the ribbon/beads going around it.

More Bday Gifts!

Today I got a package in the mail from Karina with my birthday gifts. I also got a bday card from my brother. It is the same bday card that him and I have been sending back and forth for a few years now. We scratch out eachothers name and previous message and copy our own names into it. Needless to say the card has a lot of marking in it. I had forgotten about it until I saw it. It made me laugh so hard. Anyways, below is a few pics of the things I received.

Here is some beautiful fabric that also came with my b day gifts. It is soooo pretty!

Here is a closer pic of the of the print on the beautiful fabric.

Here is my new quilting journal thatKarina quilted for me. It's is so cute and already has pics of my previous quilted projects.

Another pic of my quilting journal.

Here is another little present I got. It's a flip flop (or slipper as the Hawaiians call it) pin cushion. It's soo cute!

My Own Labels!

I got my labels today!!! I couldn't get a good pic of them without it being blurry. But they have a pic of a butterlfy on them and it says, "Hand Made by Jennifer P******"

Sewing and Coding???

Ok, so I got the stuff to finish Trin's dress. So I'm gonna try to start on that today. I got really pretty riboon for it.
Along with...I have learned the begining steps for building my own webpage/skin from scratch. Basically more html coding. Last night Shane was like the blog stuff you are doing is easy, for people who don't really know html so they will be able to make a page. He was like but your advancing beyond that. So he showed me just the tip of the iceberg on how to build my own page from a completely blank page. So it got me all excited. So I think on the nights he is gone I am slowly gonna work on my own skin/page thing. It will probably be pretty basic, but if I can pull it off the cool thing is it will be mine. I will have made it. He tried to show me this stuff a few years ago, but I had no appreciation for it and didn't really wanna learn, but now I can't wait to learn it all. It's sick..I'm in love with html coding. I know this post has nothing to do with my sewing, but just excited over the whole coding thing.

Well...

Since my sewing machine is being shipped off to be fixed I won't be able to finish quilting my soldier's quilt. So I will be working on my friendship square's and Trin's easter dress. Hopefully it won't take to long for my machine to be fixed and come home to me. I started to cut out Trin's dress only to find out I had the wrong size >.< so I need to get the right one. Also I need to push myself past the tedious part of my friendship squares and just do them.

My First Knitted Purse

Well, here it is. I am so happy with it. I did not originally intend to use black as my contrasting color, but the yarn I bought for it didn't go as well as I would have liked when I got home. So I used the black yarn I had. I like the black, but I think I was wanting something a little softer. I used the reverse stockinette stitch for the body and handles and regular stockinette for the pocket. I used pink butterfly batik material for my linning, which I had to sew in by hand because I could not get the look I wanted with my machine. The hand sewing was alot more relaxing and less stressful than I had imagined it would be. I also made a pocket in the inside for my cell phone. I had planned on putting a zipper on it, but changed my mind near the end. I may put it on there one day, who knows. It measures 9"x9". I did not use a pattern for this, but came up with it on my own (which I am so proud of because I am not good at creating things) Thanks to Doreen for all the helpful hints along the way.

Here is a pic of the stitches on the sides.

Close up pic of the pocket.

Here is a pic of the inside. Can't see the pocket though.

Knitted Babydoll Blanket

Here is the knitted babydoll blanket I made for Trin. I used the stockinette stitch for it. And I purled a heart into it. You can kinda see where the bottom half of the blanket stitches are twisted and then about the bottom of the heart they all get straight. I'm happy with the practice I got with this little project... on to my purse!

Here is a little better pic of the heart.

Here is a closer pic of the heart.

AAAAAHHHHHHH...

So much to do so little time!!! I can't believe how many projects I have to get finished. It's even worse now that I have knitted projects I want to complete. In the quilting/sewing world, I need to finish my soldier's quilt, make Trin's Easter dress, make my friendship squares, make Mycah's and Trin's quilts for their beds (especially Mycah's since he keeps talking about it), and hem my blazer, hmm I think that might be it for the quilting/sewing world. Then I have the knitting world, that first I just need to practice more, then I need to make my purse (which I want to do really bad), then I have the looooong list of things Shane wants from the book Stitch 'n Bitch. Which I am giving myself till fall to reach the skill level required for some of the things. Which wont' matter because most of the things he won't need till fall/winter anyways. Along with the cute top I wanna knit for Karina, and any other things that may arise. There is not enough time!!!
