Scarecrows

Here is the craft the kids and I did today. They are suppose to be scarecrows. However we did not have any straw or raffia to put on them. We went outside to get some pinestraw, but once I got it inside I didn't wanna deal with trying to put it on them. The kids had a lot of fun putting them together. They chose the colors for all of their clothing. And we made Trin's scarecrow a little dress instead of pants. I think they are really cute. We have them up on the playroom wall underneath their calender. They even made them holding hands. I got the idea for this project here.

My New Pin Cushion

Well, this is not a clear pic, but here is a cute little pin cushion I made. I liked my little flip flop that Karina gave me, but when I saw this tutorial I decided to make myself a new pin cushion.

Organization

Well, here are some pics of my organized fabrics. It was in serious need of help. They were just all thrown into a bin and you couldn't really find what you wanted. I didn't plan it to be that way I just kinda woke up one day and it was like that. So I decided to fix it. Here is my bin with my little pieces of fabric. I haven't really figured out a great way to organize these yet. So for this bin you still have to kinda "dig" through it to find what you want. Anyways, K can appreciate this organization since she knows how bad it was before. I think D might have even seen how bad it was...

Here are my medium fabrics.

Here is a pic of my larger fabrics all sorted and folded. Some of them are not in here...they were too big >.<

Update...

Well, I have finished a project that I found although I won't be posting pics of it for another few days. I'm working on the quilting on the first Christmas quilt. I'm not in too much of a hurry so I'm slowly working on it. I got my sewing area all cleaned and organized and I finally got all my fabric straightend out. Karina knows how bad it was, but now they are all sorted folded and stored in it's proper bin. I am very pleased with how it is organized now. Especially since I can look through my fabrics easier. I need more bins though!!! Anyways that's all for now.

Halloween

I came across some really great tracks for passing out on halloween night. If nothing else I thought they had a lot of great info about halloween which explains the reasons why we do not celebrate it. You can see them here.

Christmas Present #1 Quilt Top

Here is the first quilt top from my christmas present quilts. I started it earlier today and finished this much. I still have to add the borders, but I am pleased with the progress I made today.

Christmas Gifts

Well, I am starting my challange to make 4 quilts for Christmas gifts. I have the fabric for the quilt top of the first one. I am thinking since it is rainy and cold today there is a small possiblity I may have the quilt top finished today. (or maybe that's just wishful thinking) Anyways, we'll see how it goes.

We Have a Winner!

Ok...and the winner is....yellowrosebud03! It's a lion. I can't believe my mom guessed it. As soon as she knew it was an animal right away she was like oh it's a tiger or lion. The kids and I gave her no hints and she had no clue. I guess it really did take a "trained mother's eye" to see it. I outlined it so you could see it better. When Mycah drew the pic with the glue it really looked like a lion. The mane had lots of zig-zags, but as he placed the noodles on it it lost the sharp defining zig-zags. The three noodles "that dont' really belong" were suppose to be spots. Everyone had such good guesses. Congratulations Mom, you are the grand prize winner of two children!! I will drop them off tomorrow at 3 :D

Contest

mi
Ok here is the contest.... The kids made these macaroni projects today while we did school. This is the one Mycah made. He took the glue, drew his pic, then placed the macaroni on. There are a few macaroni on there that "don't really belong". Now the contest is who can tell me what this is suppose to be??? I will wait a few days and see how the guesses are coming then I will give hint as to what it is. It really does kinda look like what it is..but then again I KNOW what it is....lol. I think it might take a trained mother's eye to see it...lol. Anyone who wants to guess is fine, even those of you who visit but never comment ;) Good luck to all.

Here's Trin macaroni project. Feel free to guess what her's is. Although I think her's is pretty easy :)

Fall Potholder

Here's a pic of the pot holder I started the other night at a craft night I had at my house. The first half of the night I helped my friend Amanda make one and she did a really good job especially since she doesn't sew. I liked hers so much I decided to make one like it for me. I used the decorative flower stitch around the border. It's a little funky, but I like it.

Closer pic of the leaf.

Fall Scenic Pumpkin

Here is a pumpkin I made today. The kids helped me stuff it. I bought a a pannel of fabric last year with this little project on it. I got it for $.75 cents. So I picked up one for me and Karina. I have waited a year to make this thing...lol. Fall is my favorite season. All it needs now is a little raffia tide around the top. It's a really cute pumpkin. I really like it because it sticks to "fall" and not halloween stuff since we don't celebrate halloween.

The other side of the pumpkin.

Here's an up close pic of the little farm house on the pumkin.

Today's Mail

Here is a pic of coin and a pin that I recieved from Soldier's Angels today. It was a suprise since it's been a while since I sent them the quilt I made. I know the pic isn't great but the coin is really pretty. It also came with a card explaining it too.

Here is a pic of one of the papers in the package.
