Do Five Year Olds Knit?...

....I don't know, but here's mine trying. Mycah has been wanting me to teach him how to knit for a long time, but I keep telling him no he has to be a little older. But then he said, "I know how...you stick it through and wrap it around". He was kinda accurate so I thought well...why not let him try? So I casted on for him and got him started him. He did a good job, the only thing hard for him was trying to hold both kneedles and wrap the yarn. He got the idea and was doing it pretty good. He may be able to do it if he keeps practicing, but he lost intrest after about 20 mins of trying...lol.

My daughter learned how to knit when she was five years old. I sat her on the couch and I sat kind of behind her. Then I wrapped my arms around her and let her hold onto the needles as I demonstrated the knit stitch. After a few minutes she was off and running and hasn't looked back yet. That was two years ago....now she knits as fast and almost as well as I do. Keep encouraging him!!! Our yarn shop ladies have told me that they have a lot of men knitters!!!
